My thanks goes out to Barclay Butera for spending time with me after he spoke to a group of interior designers in Raleigh, NC.

This quintessential all-American designer has been on my radar since the late 90’s when I noticed we had many things in common.  Known for his unique yet assertive taste, he stands by his mantra: “In interior design there are no rules.” His style is influenced by traditional American, European, and Far East influences. He is inspired by everything from fashion to his world travels.

Butera has always focused on listening to the client, working to balance what they want and what they need. “I’m a huge believer in Client for Life, developing a long term relationship,” he says, “It’s about quality time and service.”

In the same way and with the same attitude I try to serve my clients by listening to them carefully. I’m not interested in creating “Lisa Stewart Design” signature homes, but instead, want to create homes inspired by my clients’ dreams. Together we create wonderful homes that make statements about their lives, not mine, and that’s why many of my clients call me year after year. My thanks to all of you!
