Hand-Made Modern Furniture

Lisa Stewart Design Modern Furniture

Local artists can build your dream furniture piece.

This long, lean chest of drawers shown here, which incorporates a branch from a dead oak tree, is the first major collaboration for furniture designer Chris Lehrecke and his wife, jewelry designer Gabriella Kiss. Featured at Ralph Pucci International in New York City, the price tag on this gorgeous piece was $22,000. That is not an option for most people here in the Triangle. But fear not, you can find custom wood furniture designed and turned into reality for reasonable prices. In Raleigh, check out Woodleaf Studio and Bones Studio. Also husband-and-wife team Mike Parker and Ann Cowperthwaite of Eidolon Designs are happy to build any style you desire. Wood furniture artists can also be found on the Carolina Designer Craftsmen Guild website. Go ahead, contact them. A one-of-a-kind furniture piece can be yours!

Lisa Stewart is an interior designer serving the Triangle area of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, NC.
