New build, remodel and decorating clients in the Raleigh North Carolina Triangle Area benefit from my lifelong worldwide design experience. Having been at the forefront of cutting-edge design in some of the world’s largest cities I have seen some remarkably interesting homes. My Internationally Inspired Interiors will give you a new viewpoint! Did you know I met my husband in Paris in the 70’s? Eventually we moved to the British Hong Kong in the 80’s. Then the Republic of Singapore […]
Thinking of hiring an interior designer? But don’t know where to start and what to expect? Here are a few things to look for as you search for an interior designer. Good interior designers create plans for clients and not for their own portfolios. A good practitioner will have a portfolio of projects that represents a variety of styles. Good interior designers avoid having a signature style. They ensure the outcome of each project is always a product of the […]

Turquoise tile and pale pink sinks are back once again, creating a rift in the interior design community. Some interior designers love it and others…not so much. But really our opinions don’t matter because making our clients’ wishes and visions become reality is our job. Kohler has reintroduced bath fixtures in two shades from the 1930’s: Spring Green, an icy teal, and Peachblow, a mauvy pink. What do you think? Are you ready to plunge into the colorful bathroom movement? […]
We designed the floorplan of this bath with an easy-entry large double shower that is curbless and threshold-free. We found room for the clients dream freestanding soaker tub and added a new large picture window above it. The separate vanities add balance opposite the hair drying and makeup vanity. It is the background atmosphere of this spa-like bath that truly make the space flow together. First, we selected several different tiles for the walls, floors and backsplash. (The basketweave shower […]
Removing the dining room wall was the key to make this kitchen work for my clients. Trending colors and new lighting really make it shine. But the details in the sink, countertop electrical outlet and the cabinetry make it an exceptional place to cook, entertain and live LIFE to the fullest! See more […]
My clients wanted to feel like they were on vacation at home, so we designed their main bath remodel to resemble a 5-Star Hotel. We found the mirrors that are used in high end hotels. They are perfect for applying make-up, can be dimmed for ambiance and include a backlight feature as a night light. The sink wall is a unique tile installation that extends to the ceiling and reaches wall to wall. The flat natural stone pebble tiles create […]
Adding trendy wooden interior architectural details to this builder spec house turned it into a spectacular HOME with personality. The inspiration started when the homeowners added a beautiful lumber feature wall to the entryway. To continue the transformation, we designed wood ceiling beams, columns, a focal point vent hood over the range and a timbered wall to the mud room. We stained the boards in the sunroom to match. Then we added new lighting and fans. The new backsplash ties […]
This kitchen is accessible so the homeowner can easily reach things as she ages in place. The Universal Design enables my client to reach everything in easy to roll out drawers with soft close features. It will also accommodate a wheelchair if that is needed in the future. She loves to cook and entertain so we took the time to analyze her needs. Every detail was planned for her to function effectively and to fully enjoy the space. We eliminated […]
This fantastic kitchen completed a traditional home makeover started a couple years earlier. The homeowners’ collections of family treasures were overwhelming, so they called me to get them started. First, we cleared out and updated all the rooms except the kitchen. We carefully selected each item to keep and display. Soon the home was telling a wonderful story of their lives. Later, when they were ready to tackle the kitchen, they called me too. We created a larger opening into […]
